Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park - Warm Springs, Georgia
FDR is known as the largest state park in Georgia with 140 campsites. The sites are fairly spread out and level; surrounding a large lake with great fishing. Most of the sites are well covered by trees for protection from the Georgia sun but still plenty of sunshine will get thru. Callaway Gardens is extremely close to the park and is a must see attraction with beautiful gardens, the Butterfly House, and a championship golf course. Warm Springs, home of the Little Whitehouse, is nearby offering tours and the town has wonderful shopping as well. There is a lot to do and see in this area or just relax to the sound of crickets and sights of lightening bugs.
